5 ways a new Smart Thermostat can boost the performance of an existing boiler

Published: 06-08-2018

Like a growing number of products around the home, a new generation of smart heating controls now relies on internet connectivity to reach new levels of performance.

So, how exactly can a new smart thermostat boost the performance of an existing combi boiler?

1. App control

The ability for your customer to control their heating using an app on their smartphone or tablet means that if they arrive back home later than planned, they can simply delay their boiler’s ‘on’ time until later – saving energy and reducing wear and tear on the boiler in the process.

2. Weather compensation

Whether blazing sunshine or icy blizzards, the weather compensation function on your customer’s boiler control will use online local weather data to automatically adjust the boiler’s performance in line with the conditions outside of the property.

3. Load compensation

Much like weather compensation, load compensation will also automatically adjust the temperature of the heating system depending on how hot or cold the property is – therefore ensuring no avoidable overheating wastes energy.

4. Zonal heating

By pairing the Bosch EasyControl with smart thermostatic radiator valves (eTRVs), your customer can control and change the heating in individual rooms using their app. This means they can choose to only heat the rooms they really need to.

5. Presence detection

If your chosen heating controls offer presence detection, your customer’s boiler will know when they are in and out of their home, which means no energy will be used heating an unoccupied property, nor will the boiler’s components be put to use unnecessarily.

Why not take a look at our range of smart heating controls to see which one best suits your customer’s needs?
